Divide your inspection into two parts to make it easy and smooth for you.

  • Exterior inspection
  • Interior inspection

Exterior inspection

Outside the home, the inspection should cover the following parts.

Check the sewerage:

Is there a proper route for water drainage? Gutters are in a good shape and are attached properly?

Foundation and siding:

Get know what type of siding is on the home? is it in good shape?

Check the foundation of the home with caution. Is there a sign of any leakage, cracks, or the ground near the foundation is a bit soggy, mushy, squashy? Look at it carefully.

Rooftop:

Do you notice any cracks, stains, or moss on the roof? Tiles or shingles missing? Any sign of damage?

Interior inspection

Be mindful when stepping inside the house. Note down the minor details and ask questions about anything that you see and is making you uncomfortable.

Heating and cooling system:

Check if heating and cooling systems are functioning well.

Basement and Attic:

Check the condition of the basement and the attic. Make sure it’s not damp and giving off a moist smell. Make sure it’s in good shape overall.

Plumbing and Electrical:

Check the kitchen and washrooms. Is water pressure good? What is the condition of sinks, showers, and other appliances? Any leakage sign that you have noticed. Check to see if all electrical switches are working.

Walls and floors:

Check the condition of the walls and ask when walls were last painted?  Check the condition of the floor.

Doors and windows:

Check if the doors and windows can open without any hindrance. Also, make sure all doorknobs are intact and functional.
